My work life has so far been focused on developing brands and generating sales for the outdoor and camping trade, as well as sourcing fabrics and returning sales for the transport and industrial markets.

From the start I had a passion for marketing- exploring what the customers needs and desires are, and developing products & services to match their expectations. As such, I've gained a huge range of transferable & people skills to offer prospective employers / clients. I'm adaptable, creative, empathetic and customer-driven. As the AMG group grew, and as Sales & Marketing Director -AMG services & Mitco Textiles, Alastair utilised his skills as a project leader and in business development, coordinating and leading the team and resource to set up & run AMG services- the market leading warranties & repairs back up to all AMG trade customers- world wide. He demonstrated his entrepreneurship with the launch of Camping Spares, providing a 24/7 ordering platform for trade and consumers on spare parts for tents & awnings. He also developed a sustainable program of upcycling of “non-salvable” outdoor products, creating Nearly New Tents (now Camping Recycling), a consumer based B2C platform, saving considerable costs and generated sales & significant margins.

He also utilised his supply chain knowledge with sourcing (China, Pakistan & India) of PVC & Canvas textiles for Mitco Textiles. Adding his marketing and sales expertise, in an extremely competitive market throughout the UK & Ireland, Mitco remain a key distributor of a wide range of Fire Retardant PVC sheeting, Cotton canvas & Polycottons, supplying manufacturers of many industrial and textile markets.
